Summer Solstice 2021

Summer Solstice

We are reaching the Summer Solstice on June 20th, 2021, at 11:31 pm in the Northern Hemisphere. The Summer Solstice is the longest day of the year, and we are the closest to the sun that we will be all year. So, it’s time to care for the seeds we planted during the Spring Equinox and evaluate; are the seeds growing as you intended? Has anything put a block in the growth?

Here we will get into the energy of the Summer Solstice, a visualization practice to help you get through any blocks that might be happening,  and what you can do to take advantage of the Summer Solstice 2021 energy.

Scroll to the end for a free Visualization Practice.

What is the energy of the Summer Solstice 2021?

Summer Solstice Energy

The Summer Solstice 2021 is bringing the heat! We are entering another cycle of the sun, and like our connection to the moon, we have a great connection to the sun. We know that recently there was a solar eclipse, and it definitely brought some incredible energy to the table.

We have been growing and expanding to reach this peak of energy. With the Eclipse, we were getting the energy of new beginnings, basically a preparation for the solstice. The Summer Solstice feels like this intense fire energy, and sometimes it can be quite overwhelming, but remember that it is all part of the cycle of life; it’s the ebb and flow.

Let’s also not forget that we are entering a new age as well, the age of Aquarius, so things are feeling extra right now. Extra resistance, extra emotions, just extra everything! We are seeking change on several levels, both within and for the collective. People are waking up to the blatant lies being forced on us. We see that humanity needs to come together and defeat the fear-mongers.

The energy of the Summer Solstice 2021 is deep firey energy. You will feel this a lot in the Solar plexus, so be aware that digestive and other stomach issues may arise at this time. Be aware, and when you feel anything that seems “off,” I recommend checking out my Body Scan Meditation. Let your body tell you what’s happening and why you are having this reaction.

What to expect for the Summer Solstice 2021 energy.

what to expect: Summer Solstice

With this deep fire energy, I want you to remember something; sometimes, we see fire as scary and intense. The Summertime can bring some vicious forest fires, storms, and it can get so hot it feels like our body is melting away.

Remember – this is a normal cycle, and forest fires are very much needed. It clears out the debris to allow new growth to come. Give the forest floor space to expand. And much like the nature of a forest fire, we need that from within ourselves as well.

To take advantage of this amazing fire energy, we want to really connect to the Solar Plexus Chakra at this time in a positive way. If we allow the negative to come in, we will struggle with our inner power, fear, anxiety, and introversion. We don’t want that. We want to radiate the positive qualities to enter the ebb and flow that naturally occurs on Earth. We want Joy, empowerment, energy, confidence, motivation, a sense of purpose, and abundance. Embrace your firey badass self that is just waiting on the sideline for you to invite it in.

What is ‘Fire’ Energy?

Elements

We get energy from each element, such as;

  • air – It symbolizes a vast network of vital breath, from the winds that brought the Universe into being to the first cry of a newborn baby or first breath of life (Om).
  • Earth – is associated with the qualities of patience, thoughtfulness, practicality, hard work, and stability. The earth element is also nurturing and seeks to draw all things together to bring harmony, rootedness and stability.
  • Water – stands for cleanness and pureness, for innocence and virginity. Water is the force that changes people, minds, time and everything, as Water itself is constantly changing, but always the same, a constant pulse of life.

From a spiritual perspective, Fire represents our passions, compulsion, enthusiasm, creativity, and motivation (as in, “light a fire under it!”). The Element of Fire has great power for forging will and determination. It is our inner light and a living symbol of the Divine fire that burns in every soul.

Fire symbolizes many things, including passion, desire, rebirth, resurrection, eternity, destruction, hope, hell and purification. As mentioned above, we are entering an age of new beginnings, so we see rebirth and resurrection on many levels, both inside and outside worlds.

Celebrating the Summer Solstice 2021 with Journaling

celebrate Summer Solstice

When we celebrate the Summer Solstice 2021, we are actually celebrating ourselves as we are one with the earth and each other.

This is the time to celebrate ourselves and the inner fire that the sun represents. It’s a tough, strong, and awesome power that resides within each of us.

Take some time to ponder these questions:

  1. What has your inner fire helped you accomplish this year?
  2. What moments have you felt really connected to your inner fire?
  3. Celebrate your accomplishments and moments. Acknowledge those beautiful parts of you that have brought in the fire – share some love to that version of you that wants to do and be better.

Now that the sun is reaching its peak of growth (from here, the days begin to shorten), think about this;

  • What peak moments have you experienced lately? This could be spiritually, emotionally, or physically
  • What accomplishments have you achieved this year?
  • Sometimes we focus too much on what we haven’t accomplished, but for the next little while, celebrate all of the wins, both big and small. Even if the accomplishment for the day was waking up, doing a single load of laundry, showering. Whatever it is, celebrate it. Things are harder than usual right now, and we have earned the right to celebrate all the wins.

When things are at their peak, we get obvious messages about what is working and what is not. We reach this pinnacle of understanding that there are things that we could be doing that are creating a resistance to change, resistance to letting go, the resistance of allowing the internal fire to clear out the debris to make room for new growth. It’s usually fear and bullshit stories (or programs) that we’ve built to keep us ‘safe.’ As we begin to understand what is not working, it is time to let it go.

Think about this;

  • What are you actively working on to let go of?
  • What has completed its purpose and is now ready to be released so you can move forward?
  • Is there anything within you that creates sadness, fear, or discomfort when you think of letting it go? Like, you know it needs to go, but it is creating uncomfortable energy within you.
  • What about your life do you think would change when you let the thing go? (The ‘thing’ being the emotion, situation, person, pattern, behaviour, or event)
  • What growth do you think you could achieve when you create that space within you?

Inner Fire Visualization Practice

Summer Solstice 2021 - Visualization

As mentioned above, forest fires are needed to make space for the new. This is also needed to clean out the emotional debris to allow space for new growth and expansion.

With this visualization practice, you will remove what is ready to go and create space within you. We need to allow the internal fire to ignite the ‘forest floor” of our being, allowing it to burn away the resistance of letting go or “burn away the debris.”

  1. Close your eyes and calm your mind and body as much as possible. Give it a few moments because the monkey chatter of the ego might try to sabotage you. Just send the chatter love, and compassion; wait for it to quiet.
  2. Set an intention that you are drawing in fire energy with each breath, and with the exhale, you are releasing any thoughts or emotions that are not serving you at this moment. Take 5 big deep breaths all the way down into the belly. Fill the belly and lungs fully with air. Take your time on the exhale.
  3. Call in the fire energy of the sun into your Solar Plexus Chakra. See the light being drawn in from above and entering the body just above the belly button. Watch this energy surround your body and fill it with bright yellow light.
  4. Think about the things you want to let go of; release. Like the forest fire, you are taking care of your debris by letting it go.
  5. What do you want this fire to blaze through?
  6. What is no longer serving you?
  7. What are you ready to burn down?
  8. In your mind, see the fire blaze through all of the things – it’s blazing through the things that are no longer serving you (an old trauma, situation, or event. An emotion. A behaviour. A pattern. A fear.)
  9. Now see yourself on the other side of the fire. What does life feel like now?
  10. What new growth is ready to begin?
  11. What is taking root?
  12. What can grow stronger now that the debris is out of the way?

Pain into Peace

Welcome friends! Today’s topic can be a tough one for some, depending on where you are at in your journey. Changing your mindset towards your pain can, in fact, turn Pain into Peace.

Some of this may sound a little woo-woo to you, and trust me, in the beginning, it did for me too. But with the healing I have done, I can confidently say that you can reduce your physical, emotional, and mental pain with simple practices.

First, let’s dive into how Trauma can turn into pain and then explore from there.

How Trauma can turn into Pain

Pain into Peace - Trauma to pain

From my experiences and oodles of books I have read, I have come to this conclusion – and I have heard this expressed by other big named gurus.

So we experience this thing, most likely a negative thing. Then this thing we either hide or try to talk about it. Sometimes, when we share it, we feel even more invalidated than if we had just hidden from it.

This thing now creates a program within our mental body. The mind thinks, “well, that was a terrible experience, and I don’t want that to happen ever again.” So now we create a behaviour. For example, let’s say you were involved in a toxic relationship, and now you have trouble with intimacy. On some level, you now believe that maybe you aren’t worthy of love or that loving relationships are difficult. Whatever the belief is, you are now reinforcing it.

As we continue to ignore the thing or try to tell ourselves that we are “over it,” it will actually create a cell in the body. The cell becomes a living thing within the body.

It will likely store itself within a Chakra center, and whatever the center is associated with is where the physical pain will erupt. Using the same example as above, this cell would likely affect the Heart Chakra and the Sacral Chakra, maybe even the Root Chakra.

Dis-ease Creates Disease

Pain into Peace - Dis-ease into disease

The longer we allow this cell to be stored within the physical body, the more likely it is to create actual physical pain in the body.

We may seek medical attention to get to the bottom of this pain. Still, there will likely be no explanation – or it may be an umbrella issue such as Fibromyalgia, anxiety, depression etc. I am not saying these medical issues aren’t real problems because they are, but the cell’s dis-ease manifests itself as a disease.

However, I encourage you to look through my Chakra Lessons blogs and determine where your dis-ease is residing. Perhaps it will correlate with one of the Chakras. If you’re a busy person and can’t take the time to read it all, but you do want to learn more, make sure to check out my YouTube channel for the video versions of the Chakra Lessons.

Turning Pain into Power – Pain into Peace

Pain into Peace - Pain into Power

The powerful thing about acknowledging the pain, where it could have stemmed from emotionally, is that healing can be done. There is a resolution that goes above and beyond medical treatment.

I will even be as bold as to say that cancer stems from an emotional trauma that went ignored or pushed aside, and it continued to grow and infect other cells, which the body then recognizes as foreign – causing the body to essentially create more cells and group it together as a barrier around the original cell.

You get to turn your pain into power because you have the power to heal yourself, explore yourself, and know yourself so well that eventually, you will know as soon as something isn’t sitting right within you. You can then nip it in the bud and stop it before it can create dis-ease or disease.

We have pain that goes beyond ourselves as well. There is ancestral pain, karmic pain, past lives pain – but that is a topic for another day. But those kinds of pain can ripple through and follow us, creating disease. Regardless it will show up in a chakra center.

You gain power by witnessing your pain as a message guiding you to the problem – and that is so powerful.

Pain into Peace – Self-healing Tools

Pain into Peace - Healing Tools

When you build something, you need to make sure you have the proper tools for the job, right? Same thing when it comes to healing yourself. You have to be willing to try different tools and see what will work for your specific project.

There are tons of ways you can help yourself or find a healer that you truly feel drawn to. I will mention some of my favourite modalities, and below I will get into Reiki and Crystals, so I will bypass them here, but know, in my mind anyway, they are the two most powerful ways to heal yourself.

Meditation

This is tough for some because they think meditation should be done in a certain way, that they need 2 hours or more to do it properly, or they think that they can’t get the mind to quiet down enough to focus. Here’s the thing about meditation, first remove any thoughts you have on what it is supposed to be. Because there are no rules or guidelines, I know you may read something different, and that’s ok – you can choose what works for you.

If you only feel like meditation helps you clear your mind, then develop a pre-meditation ritual that helps you do that. If you feel you need 2 or more hours to do it properly, find the time.

But, if you’re willing to listen to my view, maybe it will help you change your mind on what meditation “should” be.

In all reality, meditation is simply connecting to the mind. If the mind is busy that day when you try, don’t hold judgement on yourself. Allow the thoughts to flow, and witness them because there is likely a message in there for you. Once you get through all of the garbage of, “Ugh, this isn’t working,” “I feel so silly right now,” “My mind is racing going over all the events of the day, week, month, year, and so on.” Just witness it. Allow the thoughts. This is the communication you are getting from the mental body, and eventually, through consistency, you will start to clear out that monkey chatter. You will be able to start with the real messages the mind is trying to tell you.

Meditation doesn’t have to time consuming, I have created amazing guided meditations that are under 10 minutes, and they get results! And at the end of the day, all that truly matters is that you feel a change or shift.

EFT – Emotional Freedom Techniques (tapping)

This is where my journey began, with EFT tapping. The Universe provided me with an amazing teacher and coach. It helped me get over my own limiting beliefs and begin living the life I truly desired. Although, at the time that I started my journey, I didn’t really know what I desired yet because I was filled with so much bullshit that I couldn’t see beyond my victim mentality.

It freed me in ways that I cannot even explain. I became clear on my purpose, I healed my traumas that caused anxiety and depression, and I was able to come off my meds. It helped me expand my horizons and what I felt I was capable of.

If you haven’t tried tapping, I highly recommend it. There are many resources out there; books, apps, and coaches – so find what works for you.

Books

I have read so many books, and many of them were all geared towards healing and motivation to love the self as much as possible. I am personally a huge fan of Gabrielle Bernstein, but there are a lot to choose from. Be willing to explore and find the author(s) you resonate with most.

I also love Louise Hay, and I share many of her nuggets of wisdom in my Facebook group. The “You Can Heal Yourself” book has forever changed how I look at pain. Near the back of the book, she has a list of physical ailments and what thought pattern is creating the ailments, and nine times out of ten, it is spot on. There is also a column with a new thought pattern to say to yourself to overcome the ailment (disease or pain) – I like to say it while tapping, so powerful!

How Reiki and Crystals can Help

Pain into Peace - Reiki and Crystals

This is where my passion resides, Reiki!

Reiki has so many benefits that I cannot simply list it all out, but my favourite thing about it is that you don’t have to talk about things that are weighing on you, and it can cycle things out that you may have forgotten about but has been bogging down your energy. Reiki will help release it out of the stored cells and begin a detox process if it is ready to go.

Some traumas and emotions stand pretty high in our systems. It may require acknowledgement, and this is something you can choose to face on your own, or you can use my spiritual coaching services to hold a safe space for you to go through a process of bringing it to the surface so we can then clear it out using Reiki.

Crystals are also another great support, and I use this within my practice as well. Crystals have natural energy from the earth inside of them, and their ley lines (energetic pathways) can connect directly with our own and that of the Universe. Bringing in emotional support at every level. The crystal that you need will depend on the situation you find yourself faced with, and what works for some may not work for all.

You will feel a call or pull towards when there is a crystal that is ready and wanting to work with you.

In my Reiki sessions, I create a crystal grid where the energy can be directed to you. I mainly call upon my chakra crystals to continue the Chakras’ cleansing beyond the session, sending you more love and support in that way.

You can learn more about Crystals in the Crystal Education section of my blog, and I also have some Crystal Spotlights that detail the uses of some of the more popular crystals, and I have a Crystal Library as well. So there are lots of resources here for you to check out.

Thank you for being here with me today. If you are reading this part, then I know you made it all the way through. I celebrate you for taking the time to learn tools to help you overcome your pain and turn it into peace. I am fully aware of how difficult it can seem, and it may seem daunting. I’ve been there, I know. BUT it is so much better on the other side. Be brave, be bold, and make the commitment to start feeling better today. You don’t have to live like this. There is so much more to life than sleep, eat, work. There is joy to be had. There is love to be had. There is a new relationship with yourself to be had.

Affirmation Guide

Affirmation Guide - Stepping into power

Hey friends, I am really excited to chat about this topic with you today. I wanted to provide an easy-to-understand Affirmation guide to help you get started or improve upon your practice.

Affirmations along with frequency healing are basically the beginnings of my journey to spirituality. It has helped me overcome and conquer some of my most difficult demons, they have helped me reprogram behaviours and patterns, and they have helped me choose to live a happier life.

Affirmation Guide: Positive vs Negative

Affirmation Guide: Positive and negative affirmations

We are always saying affirmations, whether positive or negative, depending on our consciousness of what we are saying to ourselves.

Negative affirmations come in the way of shame, blame, guilt, and fear. How often can you recall calling yourself silly or getting upset with yourself for something you said or did – how could I, or I am so dumb, etc.

And it is completely within our DNA to have negative self-talk. Still, if we become aware of the conversations we have with ourselves and practise positive self-talk – positive affirmations.

By being consistent with positive affirmations, it will begin to re-wire your neuropathways so you can default to positive self-talk. And not only that, but when you commit to positively talking to yourself, you begin to take responsibility for your thoughts and emotions, which will allow you to be more aware of what is happening within yourself.

The best part of making this change is it will help you align your thoughts and feelings, which will help you become clear on what you want and help you manifest it into your reality.

When we get stuck in our DNA’s default to the negative, it will manifest the things that we don’t actually want.

With manifestation, it doesn’t really care about what you don’t want; it only hears the desire. So even if you are saying please no, I do want this thing. The thing is going to happen. We have to default in positive to say this is what I want. So example – if I wanted to manifest more money, I wouldn’t be saying I never have enough money. I need more. (how many of us do that though, right?) I would say I am calling in, let’s say $2,000 this month and remove any feelings I might be having towards scarcity.

Affirmation Guide: How Affirmations Work

Affirmation Guide: How it works

Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When you repeat them often and believe in them, you can start to make positive changes.

Some people may view this as simply wishful thinking, and you know, in the beginning, it might feel that way. But our brains are very powerful and not very well studied in the grand sense of things. If we can re-wire the neuropathways and default more towards a positive way of thinking, we have won half the battle. The other half being ego, but we will get into that topic another day.

Try looking at positive affirmations this way: many of us do repetitive exercises to improve our physical health, and affirmations are like exercises for our mind and outlook. These positive mental repetitions can reprogram our thinking patterns so that, over time, we begin to think – and act – differently.

The more you workout your positive affirmations and thought patterns, the healthier your brain and energy will become. Remember that your brain is also a muscle, and it has a lot of working parts. When we fall into depression and negative talk, or negative self-talk, it weakens the muscle.

A stronger sense of self-worth makes you more likely to improve your own well-being. So, for example, if you’re worried that you eat too much and don’t get enough exercise, using affirmations to remind yourself of your values can spur you on to change your behaviour.

And for any of my tapping friends out there, I recommend tapping while doing affirmations. This will help build the pathway even faster, and as a bonus, any affirmations that make you feel conflicted, you can tap to get to the root of the issue.

For example, if you are trying to say “I am worthy of love,” but it’s not resonating and actually making you feel negative or even physically ill, you can turn to your tapping to investigate further as to why you feel this isn’t true.

I recommend writing down affirmations that feel the most accurate to you. Or, if you are using any of my affirmation meditation videos, I suggest only repeating the ones that resonate with you until you can build up enough positivity to start introducing more affirmations that feel true.

Affirmation Guide: The Effects on the Brain

Affirmation Guide: Effects in the brain

I feel I have touched base on this already, but let’s get scientific a little here today.

Our brains are basically a bunch of electrical currents, and they all have predetermined pathways. Within these pathways, there are nodes, and these nodes are our experiences that have created certain programs, behaviours, or pathways, if you will.

When we are born, these pathways are completely clear and travel perfectly. There is nothing that makes it create a new direction – the nodes.  So, think of the nodes as a barricaded pathway. Some events happened in our life that changed the direction of the pathway, now creating certain behaviours or even triggers.

When the triggers are hit, these nodes bring up the excruciating memory that made the node place itself there in the first place.

By choosing to heal the body, you heal the mind, and there are many modalities that you can use, but for me, the biggest impact I had was affirmation tapping. (I will talk about tapping more in an upcoming video/blog)

Using affirmations can actually remove or heal those nodes to open up the pathways again, and you will lose the triggers of that event that the node has placed. Rewiring the neuropathways. This will boost confidence, self-esteem, release fears and anxiety, and clear space in the mind and body to clarify what you want to bring in, create, and/or manifest into your reality.

Affirmation Guide: How to do Affirmations

Affirmation Guide: how to

It’s a fairly simple process, and I have already discussed how you can do it. Depending on where you are at in your journey will determine where you should start.

Overall though, there is no real wrong way to do it. I will say this if you are truly struggling with your worth and your self-esteem, work your way up to affirmations. Some studies have actually proven that affirmations can negatively affect people who are feeling truly “blue.” Find something that will spark a little bit of joy for you. Perhaps trying a simple meditation practice first to lift your spirits may help. Or you can always reach out to me for a reiki treatment and go from there.

New – This is for my people that are brand new to healing themselves. Unless you find an affirmation meditation that you truly feel connected to, I wouldn’t start there. I would actually start by finding 5 things that you are grateful for and turn those into affirmations.

For example, your gratitude is; I am grateful for my home – affirmation; I am a stable provider.

I am grateful for my family – affirmation; I am a loved family member.

And so on.

Some experience – You’ve done some work and are more aware of yourself and your feelings than you used to be. I would recommend affirmation meditations and repeating the ones that resonate in your mind. And to create a short list of 5 that you start your day with on your own, then get into affirmation meditation.

Well-versed – This is for the well-rounded spiritual being; they’ve done lots of inner work and are pretty good with their thoughts and actions. For you guys, I would create your own list of affirmations to repeat daily and think of what you want to call in more of in your life. You can also follow any affirmation meditation that resonates with you. Be incredibly bold with your affirmations, you’ve healed a lot, and you can manifest any desire – the only limit is the limit your mind will set.

How To Be Present In The Modern World

Welcome welcome! Today we are hitting a big topic that may elude many of us. But come on in with an open mind and an open heart because here at Gemstorm Relevation, my sole intention is for all of you to live your best lives. To become the best versions of yourself and live in passion and purpose while being present.

In today’s blog, we are exploring being present. What it means to live in the present, the way that we can be present, and why it can be so hard to STAY in the present.

The Meaning of being Present

The meaning of being present

Firstly let’s chat about what it means to be present?

Being in the present means living in the moment. Realizing that yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and today is a gift hence why it is called present.

Choosing to live in the past or the future not only robs you of enjoyment today, but it also robs you of truly living.

How to be Present?

So what can you do to stay present?

How to be Present? – Make a Commitment

Commitment - how to stay present

Remaining present will take effort and a level of commitment. You can do this by choosing to start your day in the present. One of the best ways to do this is by grounding your energy after you wake up, and any time through the day you find yourself worrying about the future or fixating on the past, ground again. I have some meditations on my channel that can help you do this, and they are super short. I’ll leave the link below. https://youtu.be/NJHIrjHhMX0

How to be Present? –  Develop a Routine

How to stay Present - Routine

As mentioned before, your routine can be with the grounding meditation I have suggested – but you could also set yourself some alarms. These alarms will help you remind yourself and assess. Have I been present since my last check-in? What kind of things have I been doing or thinking that have taken me out of my presence? By acknowledging and being aware of your thoughts, it will help your practice of being present evolve naturally.

Become Aware of your Body

How to stay present - Awareness

Staying in the present will require you to get very familiar with yourself. To learn how to hear what your body needs. Again, the practice mentioned above with alarms will really help you get more familiar with yourself. Or, you could also do my body scan meditation every day as well. This body scan meditation can help you connect with the body and listen to it more clearly, especially as you do this practice regularly – https://youtu.be/4QHlsJNIcRU

Remain Conscious of your Thoughts

How to be Present - Consciousness

Keep thoughts positive and present-focused. To help you keep your thoughts on a more positive vibration, I would highly recommend my Chakra affirmations nighttime meditation. https://youtu.be/sGshN88NXsM

I created this video to help cleanse the Chakras with affirmations that are targeted for each Chakra. When the Chakras are flowing well, it helps to keep your vibrations in a more positive state, so the mind’s narrative won’t always default to the negative.

But if you find yourself whirling in thoughts of negativity or anxiety, recognize your signs and immediately stop. Stop exactly where you are and do the 54321 method. This method brings you back into the body and activates the senses. First, you look for 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell, and 1 thing you can taste. This will help you bring yourself back into present awareness.

Be Aware of your Surroundings

Periodically through your day, take the time to notice the things around you.

What can you see in those moments that bring you joy, happiness, and gratitude?

Enjoy Being Where you are

How to be Present - choose happiness

How often do people find themselves waiting? Waiting on something trivial like a bus or waiting for some future event to come that will surely bring them happiness? When this happens, I can be happy. When so-and-so apologizes, I can forgive them and then be happy. Regardless, we have a choice to make – we can choose to happy right now as everything is without an ultimatum.

This was likely one of my biggest “aha” moments on the journey was realizing that no matter the circumstance, I get to choose. I get to choose to be happy, and I get to choose how I react – or better still, don’t react. That regardless of how tough things may appear right now, I can find and ALLOW myself to feel happiness.

Now, that person waiting for the bus, if you were to approach them and ask them what they were doing, they would likely tell you that they are waiting for the bus, right? But what if instead, this person replied with I am enjoying fresh air while I sit on this bench watching life happen around me. This is being present. A simple switch in perception can make all the difference in this life in how we enjoy it and be present in it.

Why is Staying Present so Hard?

How to be Present - why is it hard?

And, lastly. Let’s get real about why it is so hard to STAY in the present.

I got this excerpt from an article on Psychology today and thought it just explained it so perfectly, so I wanted to share it here. If you would like to see the article for yourself, click here.

“Human psychology is evolutionarily hard-wired to live in the past and the future. Other species have instincts and reflexes to help with their survival, but human survival relies very much on learning and planning. You can’t learn without living in the past, and you can’t plan without living in the future. Regret, for example, which makes many of us miserable by reflecting on the past, is an indispensable mental mechanism for learning from one’s own mistakes to avoid repeating them. Fears about the future are likewise essential to motivate us to do something that is somewhat unpleasant today but has an enormous benefit for our well-being in the future. Without this fear, we would not acquire education or invest in our future; we wouldn’t be able to take responsibility for our health; we wouldn’t even store food. We would simply eat as much as we feel like and dispose of the rest.

The other reason why it’s so hard for us to live in the present is that our intelligent cognition simply denies its existence. Our mind views time as a continuous and linear process. Because it is continuous, any millisecond before the present moment is already past, and any millisecond later is already a future.

But the “live for the moment” recommendation must have some truth in it if it’s universally recognized as a useful strategy for dealing with distress. Indeed, research evidence does show that people who are capable of discarding thoughts about the past and the future are generally happier.

Can our evolutionary disposition to overly focus on the past and the future be tricked into giving the present more space, making it endure? I believe it can. One useful strategy is to acknowledge the fact that “me” today is not exactly the same person as me yesterday or me tomorrow, that our lifespan is comprised of multiple selves on different shifts as we develop and change throughout our life. This is not an illusion but a reality. If “me” is the sum of my memories, desires, thoughts, and feelings, then clearly me today is a very different person from me 20 years ago, and who knows who this person might be twenty years from now. This reality becomes more apparent to us when we look at our photo album from the distant past, and people who have gone through a major crisis in their life would acknowledge this fact more readily than others.

While the multiple-selves paradigm might seem a bit scary to some people, it is actually quite encouraging because it suggests that we should care less about past regrets and future fears. Our past and future selves are not total strangers to us. They are indeed our relatives, but they aren’t us. And while we care about our relatives, we care way more about ourselves. I may blame my past self for mistakes made in the past that affect my life today, but the more detrimental emotion of regret can be rendered null and void. I might feel concerned about how my future self might be coping in a few years’ time, but I can’t really know how he would feel about his new circumstances because again, he is not me”.

How to stay Present - Victim of DNA?

So, you see, it is very much hard-wired as our natural narrative to live in the past or the future, but we do not have to fall victim to our DNA. We choose to change the narrative by connecting with our higher selves to know what we need.

While we cannot deny our past because it has brought valuable lessons, it doesn’t mean we have to dwell there. Upgrade your DNA with the simple practices mentioned here that will help change the narrative of the mind. It comes down to a simple choice and a commitment to that choice.

Finding Anna – The Journey Here

Today I would like to share how this journey began for me. It is full of wonderful surprises, some dark spots, and some undeniable divine signs. To get where I started, we will need to go back roughly two years.

I was doing regular working mom things, I had just started with my first MLM company, and I went on social media pushing my products, trying to hustle some extra money. I was posting everywhere that would allow me to. I happened to meet this lady on a local buy and sell group. She loved what I had to offer. We spent most of the evening talking about the products and how she could use it. Fast forward about a month, we chatted off and on, developing a relationship. I thought it was just about these bags, but it became so much more. She began to tell me what she did for a living, horse breeding. That was something I couldn’t resonate with, as I was terrified of horses. She then introduced me to something called Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT). By this time, we were friends on Facebook, so she could clearly see how lost I was and wanted to bring this to my table, so I checked out her website and joined her business page to learn more.

The things she was seeing in me was a furious woman that didn’t know her worth, and she was right. I was completely and totally unhappy in every aspect of my life. I hated everything! I just wanted to pack up my life and run away, but I couldn’t because I had a 2-year-old. I had feelings of being trapped, and I felt lost. I was angry. I didn’t know who I was anymore. There was no time to be Anna because I already had too many hats; Mom, wife, daughter, pet groomer, MLM slinger, dog mom, housekeeper, etc. etc., all the hats typical moms have to wear. I began to feel resentful. Everything sucked. I could not find joy in anything, not even my child.

I felt alone. I felt that nobody cared about me or my well being. Every single thing landed on my shoulders. I decided to seek therapy. I needed to find what happiness looked like for me. After talking to some friends, I got a great recommendation for a therapist. I was so excited to be doing something for me finally, and just me alone. However, I had to add another shift each week to be able to afford my therapist bi-weekly. I was slowly burning myself out to afford to talk to someone twice a month. It wasn’t worth it. I was missing too much time with my child that I began to feel guilty for taking the time for myself, but I knew working an extra day a week wasn’t making me happy.

I decided to retreat. I could not handle the stress or the therapy bill. Not only that but every time I left that office, I felt worse! One hour every two weeks was just not enough. Once again, I put myself and my needs on the back burner. I spent hundreds of dollars and wasn’t given one tool on how to help myself between sessions. I felt so defeated and that this was just my life. Just accept the shit hole that it was and go through the motions each day to get through.

After a conversation with a dear friend, I realized how unhealthy this outlook was… So I made a doctor’s appointment. I knew I couldn’t afford therapy. It wasn’t worth missing another 4 days a month with my continually changing kiddo. It just didn’t work. After talking to my doctor, he convinced me that I needed some anti-depressant/anti-anxiety meds. For the first time in 32 years, I was on medication. I felt a need for medication because I was so depressed. I honestly did not care if I lived or died. I actually thought my child would be better off without such a screwed up mom.

It hit me like a bus going 100 mph. I couldn’t believe this is where my life was going. Something inside me told me to reach out to that EFT practitioner I had met the previous summer. I needed some tools to help myself. I was searching for something. I didn’t know what that was, but I felt she had the answer. When we first met, I had a weird body reaction to her. She really irritated me. In all honesty, I was resistant to reaching out for a while because I didn’t want to get that weird feeling. Nobody has ever made me feel that way, so it got me thinking. I decided to land myself back on her business page and see what this EFT was really about.

I watched a few videos and thought it was absolutely insane. It was strange, but I gave it a half-assed attempt. It looked really weird, and I didn’t want anyone to see me doing it. I didn’t want anyone to know I was doing it. It was almost as if I was doing something wrong. I just wanted to hide. Then I saw on her page that she was offering a free 30 min consult for anyone that wanted to learn more or to see if we would be able to work together. I figured I had nothing to lose, so I booked a call with her, but at this time in my life, I was your typical negative Nancy. Everything was everyone else’s fault, and I was hurting, angry, and shameful. She said some things that made my body react with twinges of pain or burning sensations. I was pretty freaked out about that, so I didn’t really follow up on hiring her… yet.

Winter 2017/18 was incredibly rough. I had no idea how to forge on. I was completely exhausted. I was getting sick all the time. Everything made me cry. I seriously could not picture my future. I felt so lost and totally alone. I had no idea how to keep going. I just wanted it to be over already. It was a very dark time in my life. Just before spring, I decided I had enough. I realized nobody was going to care about me more than me. I realized it wasn’t up to anyone but me to pick myself back up. Something had to give, and I knew where to start.

Amazingly, when I was beginning to have these feelings, my coach was doing free training in a new group she created just for women. I felt like I had a safe space to try something out of the box. I worked hard at every task given, did my homework, and began to feel an amazing shift. I began seeing signs everywhere! It’s hard to explain to people that have never experienced it without sounding a little coo coo, but as soon I started to show myself a little love, the universe (god, self, spirit etc.), started cheering me on.

I began to see repetitive numbers, such as 11:11 and 1:11, everywhere! Clocks, radios, length of a song, where I paused a show or video, labels. These repetitive numbers have strong meanings, very spiritual. It’s a kind of communication if you can accept it as so. Also, seeing the same animal over and over can have significance as well, or even if they suddenly appear! All spring, summer, and even into mid-fall, I would always see at least one monarch butterfly by a certain tree after work. I would see mourning doves drop into my back yard and look at me through the patio door. I used to think I was being stalked by wasps because, honestly, it felt like they were out to get me. I’m not kidding. They would always fly up in my face, buzz around me, multiple times a day spring-fall!

I’ve come to discover that a wasp is actually my spirit animal, which does suck; I’m not a fan. I usually look like a raging lunatic when one comes around. Seriously I will take off my shoe no matter where I am to swing at it if I have to go mono a mono. However, what they stand for is pretty amazing. Wasps remind us that simply thinking about your dreams will not make them a reality as quickly as going out and doing it; Make a plan, work at it, and have the determination not to allow anything to stand in your way. Wasps also let you know that resistance to change is by definition, self-sabotage. MY JAW DROPPED. I could not believe my eyes when I read that about the wasp spirit animal. It resonated on such a high level with me, and my body was literally buzzing!

Even though I was getting confirmation everywhere that I was on the right path and doing the right things, I was having trouble moving further. I was starting to feel stuck again, and it really upset me. I didn’t want to fall off the wagon. I wanted to keep going, I was doing the work, and had some amazing payoffs, but I also became stronger. My soul was ready to start digging deeper, but doing that alone seemed too scary.

You see, during all the amazing confirmations, I was also having realizations as I was doing the work. I was finding different layers to my anger, to my resentment, to my shame. It became tough to manage on my own. I made a plan to hire my life coach! I committed to biweekly sessions, and she also gave me tools for homework specific to my issues. I began to have amazing breakthroughs. She provided me with space to be honest about my feelings, no matter how difficult or ugly they were. She guided me and helped me see where to find the lessons, find what’s trying to come out of me to be healed. She opened me up in a way that allowed me to accept new things in my life to help support me, such as EFT, essential oils, reiki, kundalini yoga, reading self-help books, watching motivational videos, etc. These are things that I frankly never would have tried without opening up to EFT first, diving in with doing the work, and really just committing to me. These are what my soul was yearning for, but I didn’t know how to listen until I did. The. work!

I can look back at those incredibly dark days now with love. I see the lessons in every single moment of doubt, hardship, and pain. I threw away the old story of “everyone else is to blame,” and I turned it into “how can I grow from this.” I almost look forward to a dark day or a moment of anger or self-doubt thought because then I have something to look for and heal.

This massive shift happened for me after just a few months of working with my coach, committing to myself and my well being. I started fixing my relationship with myself, and things just began to start falling into place. This is what they call expansion. I was at the top. Everything felt amazing, shiny and new! It was a true, natural high. However, with expansion comes contractions. My first super-high high came with a crashing contraction. I believe to this day that every single moment had prepared me for this excruciating contraction (a story for another day)

The start of my journey was very rocky and bumpy. It didn’t look anything like I had imagined. I was able to see the value in true self-care, self-love and rise above some pretty tough challenges. No matter how hard I work, I realize that there is no quick fix and that this is a journey that I have committed the rest of my life to. I accept that being on this path means that my work is never done. It was never meant to be done. I will take those along with me that wish to come, and I have a place for those not ready.

Start loving yourself the way your soul needs you to. You only get this one life, this one moment, make everything count. Get rid of the things that don’t positively serve you or your time. The universe is waiting to cheer you on. Open your eyes to the signs that have been all around you all along.

If you are ready to leap, and you resonate with my journey, give it a try and book a distance crystal reiki session with me today, let get you on the path to the best life and the best version of yourself.

Until next time,

Losing My Religion

As a young girl, I always knew deep within that I was “different,” my brain just did not work the same as others. I made this observation quite young. I always found myself questioning my purpose… The purpose of humanity, actually.

Imagine an innocent little 5-year-old asking you, “Why are we here?” “What is the purpose of life?” I’m not sure that I ever actually asked my parents this as it seemed way too huge to speak, but maybe I was on to something because look at me now! I would question the origin of names and how things came to be. Like why is an Elephant called that? Who named it? I must be an old soul to be asking those kinds of questions at 5. I was pure energy, curious and philosophical. Having these questions so young, however, left me with a deep complex about “who am I?” “Why was I chosen to be here?”

Somewhere around 1989-1990, My aunt moved to my neighbourhood. She was determined to get me to church. She bought me my first bible and tambourine (I’m sure my parents were thrilled about that). We talked about what Sunday school was, and she gave me the option, I wanted to learn more. I stepped into that small-town church, and I immediately felt different. I couldn’t describe to you how it felt to 5-year-old Anna, but the version of Anna that writes you now knows what that was about Vibration! I was in a space that had levelled up their vibe (we’ll talk about this more in-depth another time). I will never forget hearing the bible stories in Sunday school; it left me in pure amazement. How could a man turn water into wine? Heal the ill? Feed the masses with a loaf of bread? I looked forward to Sundays to sing and dance, give our praises to God and Jesus. It was relevating! What I loved the most about it was how I felt the second I stepped foot in that building. I felt light and free.

Because I was so curious, though, it had the other kids annoyed with me. They just wanted to get through the lesson so we could move on to games and snacks. It wasn’t enough for me; I yearned to know and learn more. Then suddenly, something changed; my classmates were far more than just annoyed. They could see that I was different, I did things differently, and I desired to learn. Humans can become aggressive when they do not understand something. These kids didn’t understand me. They began to pick on me and make fun of me. Soon, that amazing feeling I had every time I stepped into the building was gone. I began to question God and his true intentions.

I was in a deep complex. If God did, in fact, exist, where was he? Why didn’t he protect me? How could he watch one of his children suffer when he was capable of healing?

Losing my Religion - Why the Suffering

I came home one day, roughly 6 months into Sunday school, crying. My mom asked all the questions moms ask when their child is crying. I didn’t want to talk. I felt alone and very sad. I curled my body into itself and just cried in a heaping lump of emotions. Eventually, I spoke to her about what had been happening. I filled her in on the bullying and my lack of faith in God. She gave me some comfort with some loving advice, but I didn’t receive the message. She gave me a choice to keep going or not. I opted not to. I didn’t want to see any of those kids again. I wanted nothing more than to believe in a “Savior,” but why didn’t he protect me?

At this stage of my life, I am also just starting my school career; the significant grade one was on its way! The message that I missed the first time came back full circle on me. Except now, I am the protector. This one girl and I hit it off right away, as she was the target of school kid bullies. I knew how it felt, and I knew what she was going through. I chose to be her friend to let her know she was not alone. To let her know that no matter what, I was there for her, something I felt that I had been missing. She wasn’t at my school very long. I’m not sure what happened. Maybe the day she came home with a fat lip, her parents decided to transfer her. I asked my parents if we could do that because after she left, the crosshairs were targeted at me. I devoted myself to be there for her, but who was there for me? She left me to the sharks. Once again, I felt alone and that nobody was there to help me when I was down. My parents denied such a silly request. I was mad. I was hurt. They tried to explain to me that running from our problems will not help us in this life. I didn’t understand; I was too young, but I held on to those words so that when I did understand, I could connect the dots.

This led to a little girl that didn’t know her worth and looking outside of herself for love and acceptance. Because God was supposed to love me, God was supposed to accept me and guide me. I didn’t get it. I didn’t understand that yes, God is love. And yes, God is acceptance. BUT I had to stop asking the questions. I had to give in to blind faith. I had to stop questioning why me. God left us with free will for a reason. We get to decide for ourselves what is right; we get to choose if WE accept God. He can only help us when we ACCEPT him.

*When I speak of God, this could be any variation that works for you; God, Universe, Highest self, it’s all the same. *

Losing my Religion - Acceptance of Guidance

When we accept the universe and its universal plan, we can begin to shed the layers, release the hurt, and receive divine guidance. We can start to rise above and learn our universal lessons. We can release the limiting beliefs such as “I am not enough” ” I am a victim.” We see that people who act from an angry place are hurting just as much as we are. They lash out because they are operating in fear instead of love. They are lost, Reflecting and Deflecting all their own pain onto you so they can feel better for a second. It is not about you. Let me say that again, their pain and reactions to you have nothing to do with you! They did the mean things because of their own fear, it’s not fair, but when we give them compassion instead of retaliating with anger, we get our worth back, we get our power back. Validate your own feelings, but do not dwell there. Accept what has happened, understand it is not your issue or about you, return to love, and release hurt.

If you’re here and still reading, I want to know, does any of this sounds similar to your story? Let’s rise, shift, and ground together. Shed the layers of hurt and limiting beliefs. Let’s get the law of attraction working and bring into your life what truly matters. Your calling, life’s purpose

Healing Toolbox

Losing My Religion - Healing Toolbox

Here are my top 3 tools for healing past trauma and finding your worth so you can try them. If you like them, add them to your personal emotional toolbox. Be courageous and try something new. Break the cycle! Share your experiences to help encourage others to try something outside of the box too.

#1 Reiki – Reiki is a beautiful energy healing modality that will gently move you out of low vibration emotions and allow us to let go of all that no longer serves us. You can receive Reiki in person or by distance – I am a Reiki practitioner that has been trained and attuned for both – You can book your appointment here.

#2 Night time-frequency meditation – whatever emotion you’ve been battling through the day, search the frequency on google, then search the Hz on Spotify or youtube. For example, right now, I am preparing for the loss of my Grandfather. He is at the end of life. So I google frequency for healing grief; it’s 396 Hz, then search Spotify, youtube, whatever you use 396 Hz. Listen to it all night while you sleep. I’ll dig into how sound therapy works at a later time.

#3 Read one chapter of an inspirational book every day – if dealing with grief, sadness, worth, etc., try to find a book that will lift you up in that area. Feel free to message me if you want any recommendations

Let’s make shift happen!

Until next time
